The Milwaukee Bucks used Whitebalance in the 2023-2024 season to help remove copyrighted material from their content. The Bucks pushed mobile, camera, and TV broadcast content into the Whitebalance web app and Slackbot, and Whitebalance technology helped identify and remove copyrighted material from these pre-game, in-game, and post-game clips.
Just in the month of January 2024, over 620 minutes (196 clips) of Bucks content was ingested into Whitebalance for detection and processing at a 97% success rate. Before Whitebalance, the Bucks muted or deleted potentially infringing content, meaning a lot of a game’s best moments were underutilized. Now, the Bucks’ content team of over 10 producers and social media managers all have access to Whitebalance’s product, which they say has revolutionized their game night workflow, making it so much faster and easier to get high quality content to fans without worrying about copyright infringement.
“We used to spend hours checking our content to ensure compliance, and now that process has become fully automated with Whitebalance,” says Matt Ship, Vice President of Digital and Innovation at Milwaukee Bucks. “Using them has given the whole organization peace of mind that our best content will always be publishable.”
